Natural heritage

Nosy komba is a rare pearl, a jewel of nature!
A mountain covered in tropical forest, without any roads or cars, just a walking path.
The island is surrounded by golden beaches bordered by an emerald sea, on which rest the wooden canoes of fishermen.
We breathe pure air there!

The village comes alive early in the morning around its small market and local craft shops.

Children play on the beach..
A carefree atmosphere reigns on the island.
We feel good there!

And above all, we rub shoulders with an incredible ecosystem unique in the world!

Whether on land, in the air, or under the sea, an incredible ecosystem gravitates on and around Nosy komba.
Chameleons, turtles, geckos, lizards and lemurs coexist with hummingbirds, herons, strawtails, fishing eagles…
On the beaches, sea turtles come to lay their eggs.
Beneath the surface of the sea, magnificent coral reefs and tropical fish, an incredible multicolored marine biodiversity that delights snorkelers and divers.

The Humpback Dolphins, sedentary, circle around the island all year round…

Not to mention large marine mammals further offshore such as whales, rorquals, bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, mobulas, manta rays, whale sharks…

This incredible ecosystem concentrated around the island makes Nosy Komba a unique island in the world!

This is why Econature travelers choose to stay at Nosy Komba during their trip to Madagascar.

And it is an honor, and always with pride and great pleasure for us, to introduce our guests to the natural riches of nosy komba through our private excursions.

And for those who want to discover the culture, traditions and history of the Malagasy people and nosy komba, we invite you to visit the small museum located in the center of the village.
And I would like to thank my friends Vincent, Felana, Naema, and Geoffroy who invested a lot to create this museum.
